The 5th IEEE Symposium on Emerging Technology of Transportation Electrification was successfully held in Shanghai from May 14 to 15, 2021. The Symposium focused on ground transportation engineering, including high-speed railway and urban rail transit, maglev train, and automotive electrification. Emerging technologies incl. transportation-energy integration, next generation power electronics, novel motor design, traction power supply and electrified drive technology, energy storage, etc. have been covered, alongside the development of electrified transportation in the digital and AI era. The Symposium has promoted the development of green transportation technology backed by electrified transportation.
